Summertime Milestones Part #1

Surprise, Surprise! I updated!
Wow - it's been a long time. Sorry.
Life's been great. With summer here, we've spent time with friends and family, and we've been shopping like crazy for all of the gazillion events we have coming up. My girls are all about to have birthdays, and Megan's about to turn 8!!

Last weekend I was able to help throw a bridal shower for my long time friend, Kasey. She's been a friend since Jr. High. I love events like this that get you all together again. Congratulations Kasey!

Megan just finished up her first season of softball. She loved it! No one got out, no one took score, every girl got a chance to hit every inning...it was a great way to introduce her to the game. At her final game she was the last one to bat on her team (all three innings), and she excitedly told her dad & I that she was going to get a "home-run" every time! (This is because by the time she got up to bat, all the bases were loaded, and she just got to run around until reaching home plate). She grinned huge the whole time she ran the bases. She couldn't have had a better coach - her coach is the baseball and girl's volleyball coach at the high school, and he was a member of our bishopric in our previous ward. Thanks Coach Mellon!

Last night we had the amazing experience of welcoming home Brad's brother, Brian, home from his LDS mission! I took lots of photos, but between the walking, the hugging, and talking, I got a lot of blurred ones. It was so neat to see him again, and Brad's parents were just beaming. They were loving it.
Brian and Betty (Brad's mom):

Brian and Rex (Brad's dad):
It was sweet to hear Rex say, "Hello my son" as they hugged.

This is how Brian closed all of his letters...it means peace and happiness:

The whole group! Woodwards are on the left, and a fellow missionary & his family are on the right side (or should I just say "we're the taller of the two families"). There were about 5 missionaries that came home together:

Brian with Brandon (Brian & Brad's cousin - on the right), and their friend. Brandon & Brian grew up next door to each other, and are best friends:

Welcome home Brian! You were such a wonderful example to our family these past two years!!

Now we're looking forward to my sister & her family coming this week, and Brad's siblings coming next week. We'll be playing all July!
