I thought it was time I shared some more summer photos. I'll start with some cute pictures I took this morning just before leaving for church. It's the first time I've ever done braids in Ashlie's little hair. I couldn't stop smiling every time I looked at her today. She was just too cute to me!
I was taking pictures of Ashlie because of her cute braids, when Megan and Paige came out to join in the pictures. I'm glad they did, because I was able to capture these:
Last weekend we went down to Vivian Park in Provo Canyon where Paige caught her very first fish, then dipped our feet in the water at Bridal Veil Falls, then visited the new splash pad at the Shops at the Riverwoods. It's rare that we go down to Provo without shopping and running errands, so the kids LOVED this purely fun trip.
The Grasshopper Rescue:
So, here's the story behind these pictures... My girls love looking at bugs in our yard. They had found, and caught this super bright green grasshopper and it hopped into our window well. The girls spent nearly an hour trying to coax this grasshopper out of the window well because they were insistent that it would die if it didn't get out. Megan was inside the house talking to the grasshopper through the screen. Paige was outside dangling a "pipe cleaner rope" they made together. They tried all sorts of things, and eventually dropped down a jump rope for it. The grasshopper seriously walked all the way up the rope, until it was out of the window well. My girls were so proud of themselves for saving it's life!
I just realized that I still haven't posted any of my girls' birthday pictures. All of them had birthdays in July. If I get a chance I'll share some of those photos. For now, happy summer everyone!
